Donald Trump renewed his public feud with prominent media figures on Tuesday, publishing successive attacks against CNN anchor Kaitlan Collins and New York Times correspondent Maggie Haberman on his Truth Social platform, TheWrap reported.

Trump singled out Collins first, deriding her as a "3rd rate" talent and asserting that her broadcast panel featured discussions built on falsehoods. Pointing to CNN's viewership challenges, Trump argued that the Warner Bros. Discovery-owned network should replace its on-air talent to restore credibility, writing: "You would think that CNN, which is suffering terribly in the TV Ratings, would get rid of their 3rd rate 'anchors,' and try to bring credibility back to their once storied network."

In a subsequent post, Trump targeted Haberman, using a derogatory nickname and claiming that the veteran reporter "knows less about me than the average reporter 'on the beat.'" The criticism centered on recent New York Times coverage regarding Trump's itinerary for a 9/11 memorial service.

The disputed Times report, which Haberman contributed to alongside three other journalists, indicated that Trump opted to visit the Pentagon rather than Ground Zero in New York because event organizers would not permit him to deliver a speech. Trump rejected that characterization in his online post.

For cable news outlets, regular friction with political figures remains an established reality of modern election cycles. While aggressive reporting can drive audience engagement, public attacks from leading political figures continue to highlight the sharp partisan divide confronting linear news networks trying to protect their core ratings.
