Slack is expanding its internal generative artificial intelligence capabilities, introducing a system that allows users to assemble interactive tools and documents directly inside messaging channels, according to a report from The Verge.

The upcoming feature, dubbed Slackforce Surfaces, enables users to request custom polls, presentations, dashboards, and mini-websites through conversational prompts directed at the platform's Slackbot assistant.

Behind the scenes, the tool relies on AI models to scan existing conversation threads and pull relevant data from linked enterprise applications, including Salesforce and Google Drive, to populate the requested assets.

Rather than switching between third-party dashboard software or static spreadsheet files, corporate teams can generate live visual data points without writing code or leaving their active messaging threads.

For entertainment studios and agency offices, where project management increasingly depends on digital communication platforms, embedded data generation could speed up daily reporting on production budgets and release schedules. Still, studio technical operations will likely monitor how conversational AI tools index sensitive development files and proprietary documents across connected cloud drives.
