Quentin Tarantino has completed the screenplay for his tenth feature project, according to remarks reported by Variety. However, the filmmaker is not rushing into production on what is expected to be his final cinematic outing.

The director indicated that development on the project is paused while he focuses on his stage work. Tarantino explained that forward movement on the motion picture will wait until the run of his newly opened theatrical production, "The Popinjay Cavalier," has concluded.

Tarantino noted that he chose to step back after delivering the draft because he wants to "live a little" before committing to a grueling shoot. The filmmaker has not yet specified a closing date for the play or an anticipated start date for pre-production.

For Hollywood Tomorrow, the deliberate pacing underscores how elite auteur directors continue to operate outside standard studio release calendars. By keeping the project unattached to an active production slate, Tarantino retains total leverage over the terms and timing of his final bow.

The director has maintained for over a decade that he plans to retire from feature filmmaking after completing ten titles. While earlier concepts were explored and set aside, the newly finished script is now positioned as his intended farewell to the medium once he returns to the set.
