Peacock has decided not to move forward with a second season of its crime drama *M.I.A.*, according to a report from Deadline.

Created, written, and executive produced by Bill Dubuque, the Miami-set series debuted its full run of nine hour-long episodes on the NBCUniversal streaming platform on May 7.

The project arrived with notable corporate backing across the NBCUniversal portfolio. To boost discovery and subscriber acquisition, the network gave the show an extra push with a special linear broadcast showcase on NBC.

Despite the cross-platform promotional effort, the drama did not secure a second-season renewal.

As Hollywood Tomorrow has tracked across mid-tier streaming services, platforms are increasingly quick to trim single-season originals that fail to meet strict engagement benchmarks against their production costs, especially in an era of tightening content budgets.
