Independent production and sales banner XYZ Films is parting ways with co-founder Nate Bolotin after nearly two decades, according to a report from Variety.

Bolotin established the Los Angeles-based label in 2008 alongside partners Nick Spicer and Aram Tertzakian. Over the past sixteen years, the three partners built the company from a boutique genre sales outfit into a diversified global studio active across development, production, equity financing, worldwide sales, and domestic distribution.

XYZ initially gained industry prominence by packaging and selling aggressive, international action fare, most notably breakout titles like Gareth Evans's *The Raid* franchise. The company later expanded its operational scope, adding domestic theatrical releasing capabilities and managing larger production slates across various budgets and genres.

Bolotin's departure marks a significant leadership transition for one of the indie market's most resilient specialty banners. As Hollywood Tomorrow notes, the global sales and distribution landscape has undergone severe consolidation over the past two years, placing added pressure on independent outfits to balance traditional pre-sales models with direct distribution pipelines.

Partners Nick Spicer and Aram Tertzakian will continue steering the studio's ongoing operations and existing production slate following Bolotin's exit. Further details regarding Bolotin's next professional venture have not yet been disclosed.
