Molson Coors has overhauled its influencer workflow to bypass traditional broadcast-era approval bottlenecks, reporting a fourfold increase in creator engagement since launching the initiative in March.
The beverage conglomerate collaborated with The Shake Squad, a consulting arm within creative agency Movers+Shakers, to replace rigid corporate sign-offs with looser creative briefs and accelerated clearance protocols.
The structural update was deployed across 230 marketing employees overseeing more than 100 brands in the United States and Canada, according to Digiday. The portfolio affected by the transition includes Miller High Life, Fever Tree, and Zoa energy drinks.
While engagement on social platforms expanded significantly, the bottom-line financial impact remains unquantified. Justine Stauffer, senior director of creative effectiveness at Molson Coors, declined to share how the engagement metrics translated into retail sales, Digiday reported.
The operational shift highlights an ongoing challenge facing legacy consumer giants, which often force digital creators through multi-layered legal reviews originally designed for television commercials. By the time traditional approvals clear, trending social moments have routinely passed.
For creators and digital agencies, the willingness of major beverage brands to relax top-down control reflects a broader reality across modern advertising. Securing genuine audience attention now requires studios and brands alike to cede creative pacing to digital talent rather than corporate committees.
