Embark Studios is bringing two of its flagship video game properties to the screen, with film and television adaptations currently in the works for *The Finals* and *Arc Raiders*, according to a report from GamesIndustry.biz.
The Stockholm-based studio is positioning both titles for multi-platform entertainment expansions as Hollywood's appetite for gaming IP remains robust. *The Finals*, released in late 2023, is a free-to-play competitive shooter framed around a televised, fully destructible combat game show. *Arc Raiders*, which remains in development, is a third-person extraction shooter set in a post-apocalyptic future where squads battle lethal mechanized invaders.
Creative teams, attached talent, studio partners and release formats have not yet been announced for either project. It remains unclear whether the properties will be developed as live-action or animated features and series.
The dual development slate highlights a strategic shift among interactive entertainment companies, which are now seeking cross-media footprints far earlier in a game's commercial life. Instead of waiting years for a property to mature, developers are packaging adaptation rights alongside active game updates.
As Hollywood Tomorrow has tracked across recent studio slates, the strong box office and streaming performance of game-derived content has driven buyers toward high-concept multiplayer worlds with built-in visual identities.
Further production updates, including distribution deals and writing attachments, are expected as Embark Studios firms up creative packaging for both properties.
