Argentine filmmaker Celina Murga has set her next feature development effort, titled *The Rehearsals* (*Los Ensayos*), as she prepares to pitch the project to international partners.
The upcoming drama stands among 15 selected titles participating in the Europe-Latin America Co-Production Forum at the San Sebastián International Film Festival, according to a report by Variety.
Murga heads to the Basque festival seeking financial partners and distributors for the new work. The filmmaker established her career with the 2003 debut feature *Ana and the Others*, which quickly positioned her as an emerging voice in South American cinema.
Over the past decade, Murga developed a high-profile creative relationship with Martin Scorsese. The veteran American director served as a mentor and came aboard as an executive producer on her dramas *The Third Side of the River* and the more recent festival entry *The Freshly Cut Grass*.
Co-production forums like San Sebastián have become indispensable financing pipelines for Latin American independent cinema. With public film funds facing persistent economic and political pressure across Argentina, securing early European equity, grants and pre-sales remains the primary route to getting ambitious auteur projects into physical production.
