Developer Bulkhead has partnered with multiplayer infrastructure provider BisectHosting to support the upcoming early access release of its tactical first-person shooter *Wardogs*, scheduled for Sept. 10, according to GamesBeat.
The game drops 100 players into combat across three competing factions in destructible Eastern European industrial environments. A recent beta test attracted nearly 500,000 participants, driving substantial technical requirements for server stability and regional capacity ahead of the public rollout.
To manage the strain of 100-player matches, Bulkhead bypassed open community server distribution in favor of an approved partner framework. Under this model, selected hosting providers collaborate directly with the studio to validate performance configurations before public access begins.
BisectHosting, which oversees more than two million game servers supporting roughly 50 million players globally, has integrated its engineering teams with Bulkhead. The technical collaboration focuses on CPU load optimization, regional scalability and testing under simulated match conditions.
For multiplayer-first studios, securing verified infrastructure prior to debut has become a necessary defense against the server failures that routinely derail early access momentum and player sentiment. Controlled hosting agreements offer developers tighter quality control during high-traffic launch windows.
